WW2 No1 Electric Torch & Battery Adaptors & LED Bulbs British D-Day Commonwealth

The No1 Electric Torch was developed mid war with flexible utility in mind. It ran off the contemporary EverReady 800 4.5V commercial battery that was standard from 1920 to 1970 – now long obsolete. It also had a handle which also retained the lid and a belt clip on the back to allow hands free use. The Lucas switch on the top could toggle on and also be used like a morse key for signaling. The lens holder featured a blinkered cats eye lens with a concealed color lens (red) in addition to the blitz cover – this allowed a variety of low light night configurations. The EverReady battery adaptors are a nice period recreation – taking 2 x C cells to achieve 3V – enough to light an original bulb (not included). The 6V adaptor is 3D printed and takes 4x AAA cells to achieve 6V The latest LED bulbs for flashlight replacement are muti-voltage and universal polarity – ours works with the 6V battery adaptor. Laboratory glass lenses can replace the cats-eye assembly, with an o-ring at its front for the bezel to provide a slight squeeze and seal – ready to take on the powerful modern flashlights – but in a retro package. NOS No1 lamps come surplus from stores in an original box and have light dust and shelf wear – easy to bring back to life. Used No1 lamps are complete and functional – may take a little working to bring to life. Now salvaging surplus lamps to provide you with individual spare parts – mostly SCC15 green with patina – some rare SCC2 brown (ask if interested). Used No1 lamps can be provided complete and tested with the 6V adaptor and LED bulb. Please feel free to ask any questions and check out our other British Field Gear.

5W LED 365nm UV Lamp Black Light Ultra Violet Flashlight with Adjuatable Focus

5W LED 365nm UV Lamp Black Light Ultra Violet Flashlight with Adjuatable Focus Light Source: 5 Watt UV LED Chip Weight: 2.93 ounces Dimensions:114x47mm / 4.5×1.9 Inches Wavelength: 365nm Adjustable Focus Material: Aluminum Belt Clip Batteries: 1 x AA (Not Included) If you want maximum effect from “black light” reactive items, 365nm is the best wavelength for this. Ultra-low “visible” light emission shines at a wavelength of 365nm- ensures the stain, not the surface, is illuminated. The 365nm light will appear white on neutral non fluorescent surfaces, where as the 395nm will appear purple. This flashlight produces a near pure UV output which is the optimum frequency for UV fluorescence. The human eye can perceive light between the range of 400nm and 700nm.  400nm light is perceived as the color violet.  The ultraviolet spectrum resides below 400nm.  A UV light source that is rated at given frequency will in practice produce light that is concentrated around the specified frequency.  In the case of 395nm light, some of the light will bleed into the visible spectrum, thereby producing a violet glow.  365nm is well beyond the the visible spectrum, so it can produce clearer florescence, cleaner more vivid colors, and no violet glow.  395nm is less expensive and can work perfectly well for detecting urine and bodily fluids in the dark, but for document verification, counterfeit detection, photography, and other specialty applications 365nm is a much better choice.
