Next remove the factory reflector, bulb retaining ring and bulb from the switch tower (if you have the bi-pin bulb you can press down on the tower to eject the plastic bulb holder). Next remove the bezel and lens from the top of the Maglite head. Insert the 2000 lumen bulb into the head. Place the lens over the dropin and thread the bezel back down until snug. Screw the head back on to the maglite until it is just “snug” onto the body. The bulb is a simple 3 mode Low, Medium, High with memory by default, however its easily customized for those who like a taste of something different. User interface: This firmware allows the ultimate in user customizability, with 24 built-in mode groups, that the user can select via a series of button presses and the option of user programmable turbo timer that will automatically step the power down to 50% after the set time is hit (see below for instructions). With the light in programming mode, tap the switch the same number of times as your desired mode group. The light will blink and your mode group will be memorized. Example: To select mode group 3, tap the switch 8 times quickly to enter programming mode. As soon as the light enters programming mode and beings flashing, tap the switch three times. The light will blink to recognize the mode group change. To set the turbo timer: rapidly tap the switch 8 times, the light will then enter the programming mode and begin to flash. With the light in programming mode, tap the switch 30 times to enter the turbo timer set mode. The light will then switch to 100% power. When the light is at the desired temperature for the turbo step down, turn the light off. The turbo timer will then be set. The turbo timer steps the light down to 50% regardless of the mode group set. To disable the turbo timer simply go into program and cut it off in >3 seconds. The Lumencraft® Firefly 800C high powered led bulb is an instant replacement for the bi-pin incandescent bulb in MagCharger -Fits MagLite® Mag Charger Rechargeable Halogen Flashlight System – Does not fit LED model Mag Charger System. -Luminus SST-40 LED Emitter Cool White -800 Lumen Output -Single Mode 800 lumen output -Approximate runtime: 2 hours Install To install the 800 lumen bulb into your Magcharger, remove the bezel from the head. Take out the reflector and the factory bi-pin bulb. Insert the drop-in with the pins into the bi-pin slots. If the pin holes in the switch socket do not line up to allow the bulb to sit down correctly, the bi-pin socket in the switch can be adjusted. Just reinstall the old bulb (do not use the pins of the 800 lumen dropin) and twist it slightly till the pins sit the direction you need them to be. Next place the lens over the top of the 800 lumen bulb reflector face, and thread the bezel on till snug. If the bulb does not sit deep enough into the Mag for the bezel to screw down, there is an extra set of rings on the base of the drop-in that can be removed to allow it to sit deeper in some lights. MODE SELECTION If your rechargeable Maglite has multi mode capability from the factory, your 800 lumen LED upgrade will also have this capability. To select the mode, starting in the OFF position, you click the switch one time for High mode. Starting from the OFF position, a fast double click will take you to low mode. Starting from the OFF position, three fast clicks will give you strobe/flash mode.

The Lumencraft® Firefly 800 high powered led bulb is an instant replacement for the incandescent bulb in any D cell Maglite including the older style with no “D” in the serial number. This does NOT fit Maglites that came from the factory with an LED such as ML300L. For 3-6D cell Maglites 3 mode output with memory High 800, Medium 315, Low 45 Luminus SST-40 LED Emitter Cool White FIREFLY 800 INSTALLATION 1. Start by unscrewing and completely removing the head of your Maglite flashlight. (if the head is not completely removed from the body you may have issues with the dropin sitting down in the head correctly). 2. Next remove the bezel and lens from the head and take out the factory reflector. 3. Insert the 800 lumen Firefly into the head(if you have a very old version of the Maglite you may need remove the extra set of rings that is on the base of the Firefly 800 first so it will sit deeper in the head (the set of rings will just slip off the bottom of the bulb). 4. Place the lens over the top of the 800 lumen Firefly reflector and screw the bezel back on to the head. 5. Remove the retaining ring and bulb from the switch tower (if you have the bi-pin bulb you can press down on the tower to eject the plastic bi-pin bulb holder). Reinstall the threaded retaining ring. 6. Screw the head of the Maglite back on to the body until it is “snug” . CHANGING MODES From the ON position you can “fast click” the switch ON/OFF/ON to get the light to change modes. Keep repeating this and the light will cycle through High, Medium, and Low modes. When you get to the brightness mode you want stop clicking. When the light has been running in any mode for more than 3 seconds it will “memorize” that mode. When your done using the light and you power it off, the next time it is turned on it will be in the mode you last used. From the OFF position you can gently press the switch down “half press” just until the light comes on. If you power it ON/OFF/ON in this manner it will cycle modes from High, Medium, Low. When you find the mode you want you can fully press and “lock” the switch into place. When the light has been running in any mode for more than 3 seconds it will “memorize” that mode. When your done using the light and you power it off, the next time it is turned on it will be in the mode you last used.
