Making super long lights like a 12D is possible, but be aware striking something hard when using this like a weapon or a bat could cause the threads to break off. These tubes will fit the body of most newer maglites, but if your light was made before the year 2000 it may not because the bodies of some old lights was larger in diameter. If you want to check an old light measure the outside diameter of the threads on the tail cap. The OD of the threads on these tubes is 1.423″ If your is significantly larger it won’t fit.
